COMMENTAIRE DE L'EXPERT

Une récolte tardive, avec un botrytis de qualité, a donné un vin moelleux au nez à la fois floral et confit, pur en bouche, avec un fruité qui reste frais malgré l'importance du sucre résiduel (plus de 75 grammes par litre). Un vin à garder pour qu'il se fonde.

COMMENTAIRE

Autour de Westhoffen, les terroirs alternent entre grès, calcaires du Muschelkalk et marnes de différentes couleurs (noires, rouges ou vertes), ce qui évidemment confère aux différentes cuvées du domaine des saveurs différentes. Sur ses 13 hectares de vignes, cultivées en biodynamie depuis 2009, Étienne Loew et son épouse Caroline travaillent avec soin, labourant certaines parcelles au cheval et laissant les fermentations se dérouler parfois longtemps. Cela donne des vins d’artiste, souvent plus expressifs en bouche qu’au nez, notamment sur les terroirs de grès.
