COMMENTAIRE DE L'EXPERT

Parfums de fruits confits, la liqueur manque un peu de concentration mais la bouche y gagne en équilibre et en perception épicée, la surmaturation ne venait que très peu du botrytis ce qui rend la bouche plus digeste encore. Ni vraiment VT, ni totalement SGN, c’est une curiosité.

COMMENTAIRE

Autour de Westhoffen, les terroirs alternent entre grès, calcaires du Muschelkalk et marnes de différentes couleurs (noires, rouges ou vertes), ce qui évidemment confère aux différentes cuvées du domaine des saveurs différentes. Sur ses 13 hectares de vignes, cultivées en biodynamie depuis 2009, Étienne Loew et son épouse Caroline travaillent avec soin, labourant certaines parcelles au cheval et laissant les fermentations se dérouler parfois longtemps. Cela donne des vins d’artiste, souvent plus expressifs en bouche qu’au nez, notamment sur les terroirs de grès.
