COMMENTAIRE DE L'EXPERT

Nez très confit, raisins secs et poire séchée, la vinification en barrique n’est pas sensible aromatiquement, en revanche le toucher de bouche est gras, onctueux, avec un moelleux de texture très savoureux que des auxerrois très mûrs ont rendu possible. Il est à point.

COMMENTAIRE

Autour de Westhoffen, les terroirs alternent entre grès, calcaires du Muschelkalk et marnes de différentes couleurs (noires, rouges ou vertes), ce qui évidemment confère aux différentes cuvées du domaine des saveurs différentes. Sur ses 13 hectares de vignes, cultivées en biodynamie depuis 2009, Étienne Loew et son épouse Caroline travaillent avec soin, labourant certaines parcelles au cheval et laissant les fermentations se dérouler parfois longtemps. Cela donne des vins d’artiste, souvent plus expressifs en bouche qu’au nez, notamment sur les terroirs de grès.
