Un vin sec encore fermé, qui dévoile de discrètes notes d'agrumes et de fumée au nez, puissant en bouche avec de l'ampleur, de la netteté et une salinité intense. Tendu par une acidité très présente, un vin riche qui ira plus loin que le superbe 2005.

COMMENTAIRE

Autour de Westhoffen, les terroirs alternent entre grès, calcaires du Muschelkalk et marnes de différentes couleurs (noires, rouges ou vertes), ce qui évidemment confère aux différentes cuvées du domaine des saveurs différentes. Sur ses 13 hectares de vignes, cultivées en biodynamie depuis 2009, Étienne Loew et son épouse Caroline travaillent avec soin, labourant certaines parcelles au cheval et laissant les fermentations se dérouler parfois longtemps. Cela donne des vins d’artiste, souvent plus expressifs en bouche qu’au nez, notamment sur les terroirs de grès.
